If you want insight into the current AI ecosystem to include the nuanced personalities behind the scenes, you should read "Empire of AI: Dreams and Nightmares in Sam Altman's OpenAI" by Karen Hao. Hao as written a very thorough book that originated with some early access at OpenAI in the early days with persistent follow-up as she was being shunned for some of her early reporting. These are the folks that are creating trillions of dollars of value in the economy right now and causing poaching wars amongst the big players and this book is your map to the current territory.
